About Cornwall by Cornishlight

'Cornwall by Cornishlight is a Travel and Tourist Guide with nice pictures' Rather than being a just another 'phone book type' accommodation listing site, or a database of hundreds of often difficult to find links, Cornishlight now has over a hundred and eighty easy to navigate pages containing lots of local information, (content to quote jargon). Its pages also contain thousands of original pictures from all over the County. In Cornishlight's case they were taken by two local photographers attempting to show that Cornwall is far more than just a crowded beach on a sunny Bank Holiday. Cornishlight is now highly regarded as a source for 'all things Cornish'. In 2001 it was getting 100,000 a hits a week. Many people are repeat visitors.

Cornishlight though only began in late 1998 has already received several accolades. It is the only Cornwall web site to have had a 3 star rating in Infoseek's UK Travel Guide Directory. In fact only 8 other UK sites had a 3 star rating. Netscape have rated it a Cool Site. Thousands of people a week have been looking at the site. Hopefully traffic levels will be as good or better this year and following years.

Cornishlight is a truely Cornish Business owned and run by Cornishmen living in Launceston. We are not 'funded' through grants from the taxpayer, however we are delighted and thankful of financial support from several Organisations whose tourist brochures we help promote. We are extremely grateful for the help from the many local people, and local organisations, and people abroad too, that has made Cornishlight the success it is becoming today.
