No bar, no disco, no bingo!!"
Located just outside Bodmin, in the heart of Cornwall, Ruthern Valley is within easy drive of both coastlines. Ruthern Valley’s tranquil nature makes it popular with guests from Britain and further afield. Families and couples, walkers, cyclists and surfers have all found Ruthern Valley an ideal location for their visit to Cornwall.
If a holiday with a roof over your head is what you’re looking for then there is a choice of 8 timber cabins, 4 cedar wood bungalows, 3 static holiday caravans, all fully equipped for self-catering. For the more adventurous, there are 4 glamping wigwams or 3 camping huts (pods). The touring caravan and camping area has 26 pitches, 6 of which have electric hook-up; there is a designated campers’ shower and toilet block – with solar hot water – and laundry facilities.
Self Catering in Cornwall, affordable family log cabins in the heart of Cornwall set amongst the trees our eight lodges blend perfectly into their natural surroundings. They provide a good level of comfort and warmth throughout the year, with the advantage of a covered walkway and verandah. All lodges are two bed roomed, plus a sofa bed in the lounge, sleeping up to 4 adults and 2 children.
Our 4 Cedar wood bungalows are well positioned with views across the valley site, they have ample surrounding space for eating outside (each has its own picnic table), sun-bathing or just relaxing with a good book. The bungalows offer all-year-round comfort, whatever the weather, and a sense of privacy as they do not directly overlook their nearest neighbour. Each bungalow can sleep up to 6, with 2 bedrooms (a double and a twin) plus a sofa bed in the lounge.
Nestled in amongst the trees there are 3 static caravans each with its own designated picnic area and adjacent parking space. The caravans are positioned to create a feeling of seclusion and privacy set in amongst nature, not regimented lines as on many sites… this helps to minimise noise without creating a sense of isolation. Each caravan has all services – a full size cooker and fridge in the kitchen and a colour TV in the lounge – and its own bathroom and toilet. There are 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge – accommodation for up to 4 adults and two children. There are laundry facilities with washing machines, tumble driers and ironing equipment provided.
Camping just got a whole lot easier not to mention glamorous! Sleeping up to 5 adults Wigwams are the ultimate eco cabin – double-glazed, secure and lockable, cosy and warm whatever the time of year.
Ruthern Valley Wigwams offer a convenient alternative to the tent but retain all the ambiance of the ‘camping holiday’. Set in designated areas within the site, the Ruthern Valley Wigwams
have a number of benefits for the visitor:
Ready and waiting for you – no need to put up or take down wet tents!
More privacy and security than a tent.
A deck for sunbathing, dining and chilling out.
A guaranteed dry refuge should the weather get a little damp.
Built-in beds with memory foam mattresses, a fridge, kettle and microwave add convenience, and an electric heater gives a little extra comfort if the weather ever gets the better of the super-cosy lamb’s wool insulation (been toasty even down to -6° so far!!).
We also have Camping Pods, these sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children, a fantastic wooden tent to keep you warm and dry – you do need to bring all your camping gear except the tent; they are not equipped.
Outside they have wooden decks to sit out on, cook and enjoy your surroundings.
Cornwall Self Catering Holiday - The Touring Caravan Site Determined to keep away from the rigidity of row upon row of tents and tourers, our campsite - of only 26 pitches - is spread across four natural areas. The sunny and open, tree-lined main field slightly exceeds one acre, and is given over to only sixteen pitches, six of which have electrical hook-up facilities. The Wood - ideal for tents- has only five pitches, whereas End Field and First Fairing are alcoves of just 4 pitches each and are therefore particularly well suited for larger groups.
Children's Play Area Visitors will find a re-furbished play area with new professionally built play equipment for all ages and 5 a side goal posts, set well away from the accommodation area for children, who will also love watching the abundant wildlife around the site.
